Happy New Year!

Hello Parents and welcome back!  Hope you all had a nice break.  First, I’d like to say thank for all of your donations to our Winter Holiday party before the break and for helping out during the party, I think the kids had a great time playing games and having some treats.  Second, I have a couple of important announcements and reminders for upcoming events:

  • Know Your States Challenge – 5th grade is the one year that all students must participate and it will count as a grade.  Additionally, they will be taking the capitals test so if your child needs some practice you may want to start now as it is coming up next month – February 3, 10, 17.  This is not a matching type of test, they will be required to spell out the names of the states (they are allowed minor spelling errors).
  • Yearbook Pictures – the deadline for submitting pictures for the yearbook is January 30th.  After that we will not be able to contribute any more pictures as the books will be sent out for print.  So if you have any photos, please upload them or email them to me and I will do it for you.  Even if you only have 1 or 2!  Upload instructions can be found on the PTA website as well as right here on our classroom page under “Classroom Photos.”
  • Talent Show applications are due 1/21-1/23 with auditions being held 1/27-1/29, please see the RS PTA website for more information.
  • Valentine’s Bingo will be held Friday, February 6th in the evening.  Tickets will be on sale that week after school.
  • Valentine’s Class Party will be held on Thursday, February 12th.  More details to follow…
  • President’s Holiday – 4 day weekend!!  No school on Feb. 13th & 16th
  • Foundation Games – This is a great community event that takes place each year at Fred Kelly Stadium in Orange, but requires some parent support.  If you have a child in 3rd-6th grade that would like to participate please email me for more information.  The event will be held April 17th-18th this year.

More detailed information for each of this events can be found on the Running Springs PTA website

Special thanks go out to our generous parents and community business partners who have helped to support this event.

Parents who have signed up, please bring your food by 6:00 pm on November 18 to the Multi-purpose room. Doors will open and festivities will begin at 6:30 pm.

This year we will be selling water and drinks to support the library’s activities.  If you would like to purchase a drink, we can only accept cash. Water and Capri Suns will be available for purchase at $1.00 each.
